A dark hallway

n this long hallway, typical of the Haussmann apartments, architect Philip Harden wanted to break the monotony and enhance the impression of “passing.” He then chose to paint the walls in black paint with a blackboard (“simpleton”, Leroy Merlin ), passed through a magnetic underlayer (“Magnétude” BHV ). Homeowners can give themselves to their heart in the installation of small magnetic sets or even chalk drawings. To add a functional aspect to this fine hall, like a hyphen between the two sides of the apartment, architect invented a long shelf performed from storage bins ( IKEA ) aligned one after the others. Inside, the small range of everyday objects, above, it is used as a chair rail to put tables and various trinkets. All along, an Eames chair and a chair vintage wood bakelised the 60s await walkers corridor. Finally, the only illumination for the present atmosphere more than for light, is realized by a bulb-flower (“Filly”, Habitat )

A hallway with cupboards

The corridor is more than just a place of passage in our homes, it is useful today. So in this apartment, architect Francis Muracciole preferred slightly reduce the width of the corridor in order to install a row of cupboards along the entire length. Thus, on the left wall, the doors will follow, hidden storage space and do not look alike! Indeed, each of which is painted a different color depending on what the cabinet contains: blue duck on accessories for laundry (No. 1110-5, Tollens Grand Totem), acid green for linen bathroom (“Green Chartreuse”, Paint & Paper Library *) and gray (“Black Rome”, Clay ), pink (“Secret Shell,” Little Green ) … So, not to clash with the colors a little flashy as Alice in Wonderland, the rest of the hallway was painted in a shade rather neutral and natural enough (“Smoke Clay,” Clay ) while the soil is brushed concrete stained black with a red tinge. Basically, a chair Peter Guariche waits for his owner.

A corridor checkerboard

In this apartment, this piece is more akin to the vast dimensions to a hall to a corridor. Then to develop it while trying to fill that feeling of emptiness, the owner chose to put a carpet big checkered black and beige (Masure Son *), responsible rhythm pattern decorating the room. In the foreground on the right, a pair of curtains, dishes prepared with linen square ( Dreyfus, Market St Pierre ) serves as door and accentuates the graph typically Art Deco already established by the carpet. On the walls, there are shades similar to those shown on checkerboards, to stay in style a bit 30s: very soft sand (“Savage Ground, Farrow & Ball ) and dark gray (“black Off” Farrow & Ball ) on baseboards, cornice and radiator. A layout that makes this room cozy and warm despite the large volume.

To line the walls of this corridor are English vintage wallpaper that was chosen to create an atmosphere a bit british. But to avoid the obsolescence of the total look, we superimposed the different papers and designs to give a bit of pace to decorating. On the left wall, and there is a patchwork of five different reasons: “Fan Tree of Cole & Son,” Miko “Sand Berg,” Windrush “,” Chrysanthemum “and” Indian “by Morris & Co, while dug in over the colors .

Opposite, there is still changing patterns with a mixture of styles: underbody is painted in a united way (“Green-sous-bois,” Tollens atmospheres) and surmounted by a Scottish paper stuck to mid-height (“Ranolder” of Sand Berg)

Basically, there is a little more gaiety and color with a pink flowered wallpaper “Bird in the bush” by Anna French, at Au Fil des Couleurs .

To brighten and modernize the hallway, we move away completely from the main theme in painting the floor and woodwork yellow gold (special acrylic floor “Steppe” Tollens atmospheres ) that catches the eye. On the right wall are hung massacres ( Deyrolle ) around a trophy “through walls” tapestry (Frédérique Morrel *) that accentuate the British style of the room. Basically, a peg Conran Shop hosts a stole whose design is reminiscent of the trophy, while a small table in green Muuto Home Around the World is hosting a pretty vase Habitat .

A bathroom close but very functional

For this bathroom with a width of less than 2 meters is functional and pleasant, the architect has built Valerie Mazerat a bathtub that fills from the overflow ( Castorama ) level with the worktop. She is dressed in a blond wood deck, the hemlock (Canadian wood) that was also used in the manufacture of the three flip-open storage and worktop incorporating a white shell ( Boffi ). Behind a mirror associates faucets ( Boffi ) and lighting. On the left, shelves built into the wall can store towels and toiletries have business at hand.
